Although LIC is technically still a Climate Reporting Entity (as defined under The Financial Sector (Climate-related Disclosures and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2021), this will no longer be the case under changes proposed in the Financial Markets Conduct Amendment Bill. In October 2025 the Financial Markets Authority confirmed ‘no action’ relief for climate reporting entities due to be relieved of mandatory reporting. Accordingly, LIC will not be preparing or publishing Climate Statements for the year ended 31 May 2026. Climate Statements for previous periods can be accessed below.

Climate Statements contain forward-looking statements, including climate-related metrics, climate scenarios, climate-related risks and opportunities, estimated climate projections, targets, assumptions, forecasts, and statements of LIC’s future intentions. They reflect LIC’s best estimate and current understanding of future climate-related events, risks, opportunities, impacts and strategies as at the date of publication.
