I’m Jennifer Mathieson, one of LIC’s Farm Wise consultants based in Canterbury.
I grew up on the West Coast and first moved to Canterbury to complete a Bachelor of Agricultural Commerce majoring in Farm Management at Lincoln University. I have a background in rural banking, fertiliser, agronomy, animal health and facilitation both on the West Coast and Canterbury.
What is my life like outside work?
I am a very family-orientated person and enjoy spending time with immediate and extended family. I have been active within the sporting community, namely Netball (playing, coaching and committees) and enjoy Rugby. I enjoy the outdoors, particularly white baiting on the West Coast.
What drives me when working with farmers?
Honesty is one of my core principles. I will always act fairly and justly. I’m a great communicator and I appreciate other people’s views and welcome constructive challenges when necessary. I find motivation in executing plans, pursuing successful outcomes and enjoy sharing any learnings.
