LIC has welcomed Dhaya Sivakumar as Chief Information Officer, responsible for leading the co-operative’s technology architecture, strategy, software development and operations.
Dhaya brings over 20 years of technology industry experience, having held CIO and COO positions in a variety of companies including AMP Financial Services, Paymark and 2Degrees Mobile.
LIC Chief Executive David Chin said Dhaya’s appointment will support the co-op’s commitment to meeting the current and future needs of its farmer shareholders.
“It’s exciting to have such an experienced technology leader join us who shares in our vision to deliver modernised data and digital capabilities for a more profitable and sustainable dairy industry.
“Dhaya’s experience in large corporate technology and operational transformations will bring a fresh perspective that will help us continue to deliver software reliability and performance to our farmers.”
LIC was recently listed at No.7 in the Technology Investment Network TIN200 list and is known for developing one of the largest SaaS software platforms (MINDA) in New Zealand agritech, used by approximately 90% of New Zealand dairy farmers.
Commenting on why he was attracted to the role, Dhaya said LIC stood out as a renowned agritech co-operative that contributes to the success of New Zealand’s primary industry.
“The role represented a great opportunity to be part of a growing co-operative that has a pivotal impact and influence on a crucial sector of our primary industry in New Zealand. LIC’s depth of data and MINDA herd management software are the perfect foundations to innovate and build upon to help farmers be even more efficient and productive.
“There is a global opportunity to utilise technology to help shape food production for sustainable farming and I’m excited to be joining a team that is supporting farmers to do just that.”
