Our artificial breeding technicians provide a convenient, door-to-door insemination service. They’ll bring all the straws you’ve ordered to your farm, as well as any equipment needed to store them.

They’re experts at what they do and they produce consistently high conception rates.

Reduce the risk of inbreeding with DataMATE

All our technicians use DataMATE, an app to prevent inbreeding and disorders caused by recessive genes. DataMATE calculates the risks of a particular mating and issues a warning if the risks are too high. The technician can then inseminate the cow with a more suitable bull.

DataMATE also updates your mating records in MINDA.

Low Group Policy to safeguard non return rates

We constantly monitor the performance of our technicians to make sure they deliver the best possible results. If a technician fails to meet our minimum non return rate, we’ll help get your herd’s reproductive performance back on track. Under our Low Group Policy you may be eligible for free AB products and services.

Better facilities, better AB results

Good AB facilities help produce better results. Our artificial breeding facilities booklet contains specifications and guidelines to plan from scratch, or to improve existing AB facilities at dairies and runoff locations.

Whether a farm has an existing dairy, or a new dairy is being built, the AB facilities must be of the type and capacity to comfortably handle the number of animals likely to be submitted for AB.

Premier Sires® technician service prices

Genetics pricing effective 1 April 2024.

Customers are charged per 100 inseminations or part thereof, depending on the number of inseminations to Premier Sires. As described in the tables, the average cost of inseminations decreases as the number of cows being put to AB increases.

Some locations, timing of services, or non-dairy herds may incur additional charges.

Cancellations and alterations

Alpha orders cannot be cancelled within 30 days of the AB start date, as per LIC's Conditions and Service Rules. Alpha orders altered after dispatch date may incur a $35 handling fee.

Dispatches

All Alpha DIY orders will incur a $35 dispatch charge.

Non-LIC straws

The cost of an LIC AB Technician using non-LIC straws is $10.70 per insemination. Non-LIC straws do not contribute toward the Alpha Technician service graduated scale.
